What to Expect:
During your first visit, you will receive an initial clinical examination by Dr. Donald Simi. The examination will include a discussion of the potential need for orthodontic treatment and the appropriate timing for it. While we can address general questions during this examination, specific treatment details will be provided after a thorough analysis of diagnostic records.
Please Bring:
- Medical history form
- HIPAA acknowledgment and authorization forms
- Any panoramic X-ray taken within the past six months
- Dental insurance card if you have orthodontic insurance
Diagnostic Records
The first step in the treatment process involves obtaining diagnostic records. These records allow Dr. Simi to develop a personalized treatment plan for each patient.
Diagnostic Records Typically Include:
- Panoramic X-ray of all teeth
- Cephalometric x-ray of the skeletal structure of the head
- Intraoral scan of the patient’s teeth
- Facial and intraoral photographs
- Examination by Dr. Simi
Dr. Simi will analyze these diagnostic records to understand each patient’s specific needs and develop a detailed treatment plan essential for achieving optimal results.
Treatment Plan Discussion
Dr. Simi will discuss his clinical diagnosis, treatment plans, patient cooperation, risks and benefits of treatment, and the approximate duration of treatment during this session.
If the patient is a minor, both the patient and one parent should attend this appointment. Our goal is for patients to leave this discussion with a clear understanding of their specific needs, the details of their treatment, and an estimated timeline.
